This “Nearly Free” offer is made to any client seriously interested in an Agile approach to process and quality improvement as well as in working with us in an Agile manner.

Agile-based training, coaching & consulting is available to such clients for expenses plus $100 a day* at a client site for up to 40 days.  Usually this will be a week of training and planning, six weeks of development iterations (e.g., three two-week iterations), and a week of adoption assessment and evaluation.

We make this offer because we feel so strongly that an Agile approach by a serious client will have great benefit to them and working this way enriches our ability to impact adoption of Agile Values and Principles.


  • We recommend starting with this 1-day program:

    2-1/2 hour session on Agile Values, Principles & practices; 
  • 30-minute organizational readiness self-assessment;
  • 30-minute review of the assessment results;
  • 2-1/2 hour adoption planning session based on the results.

Following this, we will provide additional individual and team training to prepare those to be involved in the Agile adoption effort to both implement and evolve the plan created in the adoption planning session.

After this, we recommend a period of three product development iterations of two weeks each for individuals and teams to become familiar with and gain some confidence in Agile practices and techniques.

At the end of this six weeks, we recommend an evaluation and assessment of the adoption process and everyone's comfort/satisfaction with it, followed by planning your organization's ongoing use of an Agile approach.


After the initial 40 days of adoption effort, we will gladly continue with a client or work with any new, but already experienced, Agile client.  Coaching/training costs will be expenses plus $500 per day* for onsite work up to a maximum of expenses plus $1500 per week.  (That is for a full week the cost will be expenses plus $300 per day.)


We require the following to limit our risk, making the above cost structure possible:

  • An up front payment of $2000 toward expenses (which we will itemize);
  • Each week's fee paid on the last day of each week before we leave the site;
  • A $1000 payment toward the next week's expenses before we leave the site;
  • No expense refund for any airfare paid if client cancels engagement.

In return, a client may, at the end of any week of the engagement, terminate the engagement with us with no penalty other than expenses or fees actually incurred at that point.  This includes, as noted above, any airfare paid, but not yet used.  We will refund all other unused expense money.


When not onsite with a client, we can be available via email or phone at no cost to the client for up to an hour on any weekday.  After that the fee will be $30 per hour.  The same cost per hour will apply to any offsite work done (on any day of the week) for a client not involving direct client email or phone communication.
